A Collective experience of 75 years in the fire and rescue industry gave birth to American Rescue Technology. American Rescue Technology was founded on an idea that innovation, creativity, and delivery, were more important than the bottom line. So in the fall of 1992 shareholders with American Rescue Technology partnered with Weber Hydraulik of Germany, bringing the European powerhouse to the U.S. market. By mid 1993 there was no mistaking the partnership was a success.

It wasn’t until 1999 that American Rescue Technology and Weber Hydraulik exchanged shares of stock and officially began their Joint Venture. Shares were distributed so each company held equal responsibility and accountability for one another. This joint venture allowed for American Rescue Technology to purchase machinery and begin manufacturing 100 percent American made products.

Eight years later American Rescue Technology invested even more in manufacturing equipment as a direct result of increased sales and overall success in the U.S. market. Not only was the success apparent in the U.S., but also in the international rescue market. Sales and demand increased when American Rescue Technology began exporting 100 percent U.S. manufactured products globally.
American Rescue Technology riding on its core values, innovates a number of cutting edge game changing technologies in the rescue tool market. First innovation was Overdrive hydraulic pump technology. Overdrive took the market by storm and American Rescue was a driving force in the industry. This innovative technology allows rescue personnel to increase the speed of a tool by 50 percent on demand. The heart of the system … the Mach III Outlaw was born.
LION makes the gear emergency service providers, civilian responders and militaries need to stay safe in the line of duty. We got our start at the end of the 19th century as a dry goods store in Dayton, Ohio. By 1941, we had received a commendation from Army Air Force Commanding General “Hap” Arnold, saluting the company for “outstanding services rendered to your government” after supplying the Army Air Force with electrically heated flying suits during World War II. Over the next two decades, we opened regional warehouses and had started operating in the firefighter station uniform market.
In 1970, we moved into the firefighter turnout business – and we have never looked back. We actually coined the term “StationWear” and were the first company to develop digital training technology for the firefighting market. Today, we continue to deliver innovative, patented technology to the fire service market. We have a dedicated research and development staff that works with fire departments to generate (and evaluate) new product ideas. Real end users collaborate with us on wear trials and focus groups so we can deliver solutions that work for actual first responders like you.
